FREE Valentine Show + Songwriting Class + Secret Song!

Hey all,

I’ve got some exciting announcements and opportunities to connect through music this new year!

Free Concert this Wednesday

Our friends at Locals Food Hub & Pizza Pub are hosting a FREE concert by yours truly and Nat Colten *plus delicious dinner and drink specials* on Valentine’s Day, this Wednesday, February 14 from 6-8pm. I know this holiday is filled with loneliness, love and all in between, and we’re here for it. Come be our Valentine over good food and good music. (Here’s a little invite jingle Nat and I wrote on our morning walk.)

Funding Available to Book Me & KY Performing Artists

Folks affiliated with Kentucky nonprofits (including public libraries and schools) and state or city parks that book live performances can apply for the Kentucky Touring Grant to receive financial support to book me or any member of the Kentucky Arts Council Performing Artists Directory for an upcoming public performance. This is a matching grant that helps make quality public performances available to the people of the commonwealth. So cool! I’d love to provide an Intent to Perform Agreement for your application. The deadline is March 15. Please review the grant page for further details.

Music to Life Juried Artist Roster

I'm excited to announce that I’ve been selected as part of Music to Life's (MtL) official Juried Artist roster! MtL is a national nonprofit founded by 60’s civil rights icon Noel Paul Stookey (Peter, Paul & Mary), dedicated to cultivating and empowering a network of musician change agents.

Write Songs with Me this Summer

I’m teaching songwriting at Cowan Creek Mountain Music School from June 24-28 in Whitesburg, KY! This music school is near and dear to my heart and it’s an honor to return as faculty. We will explore the wonderful and mysterious world of songwriting that is accessible to us all. We will delve into crafting lyrics, melody and musical accompaniment, and how to take your songwriting practice home with you. We will create a supportive atmosphere to explore your songs and give each other the structure and accountability to complete them. All levels of songwriting experience are welcome. It will be helpful, but not required, if you can play a few basic chords on an instrument of your choice. There are limited spots left in all of the amazing courses, so sign up soon

Thank You / Secret Song

When venues book me for paid performances, and when you attend ticketed shows, you help me be comfortable in meeting my basic needs, cover expenses related to my creative practice and thrive as an artist through attending workshops like Adrianne Lenker’s songwriting workshop I experienced in January through School of Song (seriously, check these artists out). As thanks, I hope you enjoy a home recording of my draft song, “Always in Love,” which I wrote during the workshop.

[birdsong slowly returning],
